How long does it take to apply for a UK Visa

When applying for a UK tourist visa for a Thai national at the British embassy Bangkok. It has or recent years taken up to 5 working days to get a reply to the visa application.

However April 2009 has seen changes with the way visas are processed and all types of visa now take much longer before.

As of April 2009 it now takes 15 working days for a reply on a visa application. 15 working days can mean anything from 19 days in total if you apply early on a Monday morning or , 21 days if you apply later in the week and even longer if there are any national holidays in between.

When applying for a tourist visa be prepared to wait for up to 3 weeks to get an
answer.
