Today I received an email enquiry from a UK man who has been in a relationship with his Thai girlfriend for 18 months.

I called him to ask some questions to get a better idea of the relationship he has and also to work out if he will be able to get a visa for his girlfriend to come back to the UK.

He has known his girlfriend for 18 months. He met her while he was on his second holiday to Thailand and return to see her 3 more times. He explained that last year she came to the UK. I asked who had been the sponsor and he explained that she had been invited to stay in the UK from a Thai friend. Her Thai friend is married to and English man and he was the sponsor.

While she was in the UK she visited him for three days as the rest of the time she stayed with her friend in a different city.

From experience I can tell you that so far the story doesn’t add up. The British embassy do not allow standard friends, or husbands of friends to sponsor other Thai people. Unless his girlfriend is wealthy, which he confirmed she is not, another man has sponsored her to visit the UK. The British embassy would have needed evidence to suggest that they are in a real relationship.

the Thai girlfriend has at least two British boyfriends

So my conclusion is, the Thai girlfriend has at least two British boyfriends. Both that send money to her when she is in Thailand, both that call her every day and email her every day. While she was in the UK she came up with a story to tell the boyfriend that had sponsored her she had family to visit in a different city and the traveled to see the second boyfriend.

I didn’t explain what I thought on the phone, as you will understand people do not like being told.

A Thai bar girl on the take

Even though the second boyfriend would make an ideal sponsor and can demonstrate he is in a relationship with the Thai girl, the British embassy will turn down the application. The reason for this is when the embassy go over her details, they will see she has visited the UK within the last year, with the help of a different sponsor. To the embassy she will look exactly what she is. A Thai bar girl on the take.

I am 36 years old in live in the UK. My father has been living in Thailand since 1998 and has a Thai wife. 11 months ago my father introduced me to a beautiful Thai girl via the internet. We chat every day on web cam, skype and emails. My thai girlfriend is now 17.

In 2009 I visited her in Thailand twice and plan to come again in March 2010. I send her money every month via money gram. We would like to know can we get her a UK tourist visa. My Thai girlfriend is 17 and we want a UK Tourist Visa

Thai girlfriend 19 to get a UK Tourist Visa

Thank you for the visa enquiry, I would like to inform you that the youngest age you will be able to get a UK tourist visa for your Thai girlfriend is 19.

When you are submitting any evidence when applying for the visa, the British embassy will only take into account any evidence from when your girlfriend was 18.
Do not get married as this will not help you get a visa. The youngest age you can get a Thai wife back to the UK to live is 21.

Go digging around all the various Thailand and Visa web sites and you would begin to think that getting a UK visa is hard.

The UK Border agency does not make it hard for people that qualify to get a visa to travel to the UK. The main objective of the British embassy and the UK border agency is to weed out the people that have no real reason to travel to the UK. There are many rules and regulations stipulating in what situation people can be granted a visa for the UK.

If a person making an application does not fit within the guidelines and rules then the visa will be denied. This does not make getting a Thai person a visa for the UK easy or hard, it lays out a set of rules that you must adhere to.

I tell people every day, the main reason people are denied visas is as a result of a bad understanding of what is expected from you. People blindly fill out legal UK application forms, many times not providing information that they could have easily supplied; resulting with a visa refusal.

If you have a Thai girlfriend, you are in full time employment, have a home in the UK, you will if done correctly be able to get a visa for the UK

All that you need is a set of rules that you adhere to, the unprinted set of rules that the UK border agency work to, so you will be able to give them the information that they require and you will be given a visa.

How hard is it for a Thai person to get a visa for the UK

Getting a visa for the UK is not hard for any Thai person that can pass the visa test.
It is not hard for any person that cannot pass the test, it is just impossible.

A good visa consultant will be able to work with you so you can create a profile with supporting documents and evidence that will result in a positive outcome.

I have been looking through the requirements for getting my Thai girlfriend a UK visitor’s visa so she can visit me in the UK for 3 months. We met in March 2009 while I was on holiday in Pattaya. Ever since we met we speak to each other on the phone every day; we also send emails and text messages to each other.

I do not know how to prove that my Thai girlfriend will return to Thailand

I do not know how to prove that my Thai girlfriend will return to Thailand, but because she has a 3 year old daughter, surly the embassy will see that she will have to return to Thailand. She loves her daughter and would never leave her.

Answer to question My Thai girlfriend has a child, does this prove she will return to Thailand

From the basic information given in your question, I am not certain that your Thai girlfriend will be granted a UK visitor’s visa. I will email you with more questions to give you a better idea, but to answer the basic questions.

Your Girlfriend will return to Thailand at the end of the UK Visitor visa.

As you have rightly noted, the British embassy require a strong amount of evidence to suggest that your Girlfriend will return to Thailand at the end of the UK Visitor visa. Your Thai girlfriend has a daughter, but this is not evidence to suggest that she will infact return to Thailand. You stated that she would not leave her daughter, I guess that your girlfriend works in Pattaya while her child is in the Thai village with the grandparents. If this is the case your girlfriend has left her child already. From the British embassy’s point of view, what is the difference between leaving your child to work in Pattaya or leaving your child to work in the UK.

Having a daughter is not evidence that your Thai girlfriend will return to Thailand, however It will show that she has a strong connection to Thailand

Why would your Thai girlfriend want to leave the UK?

It is obvious that more money can be earnt in the UK; so why would your Thai girlfriend want to leave the UK? Every year Thai ladies enter the UK on a valid visitor’s visa and disappear working illegally; sending money home to the Village; to their familys. In some cases the ladies remain in the UK for many years undetected and finally return to Thailand when they have sent home millions of Thai Baht. The money would have been used to buy land, build a home and set up a new lifestyle.

Having a daughter is not evidence that your Thai girlfriend will return to Thailand

Having a daughter is not evidence that your Thai girlfriend will return to Thailand, however It will show that she has a strong connection to Thailand. Thought this information can be used both for and against the application.

This application is going to need more than just a daughter and more than you talk on the phone every day. Showing a real relationship is a good starting point. Though do not get conned into buying land or a house for your Thai girlfriend. Your girlfriend will not need a house or land to get a UK visitor’s Visa.

What is the quickest UK Visa to get for my Thai Girlfriend?
The quickest and cheapest UK visa available to your Thai girlfriend is a UK Tourist visa also known as a UK Visitors Visa.

How long does it take to apply for a UK Tourist Visa

Throughout the year the British embassy take different amount of times to process a UK tourist visa application, but as of writing this article December 2009, it takes roughly 10 working days to get answer from the British Embassy.

What about applying for a UK Fiancee visa.

A UK Fiancee visa is different class of visa and is in the same class system as a UK Settlement Visa. A settlement visa and fiancée visa both take more than 30 days to get a response from the British embassy. Not only does this type of visa take longer to process, there are more checks and there for many more reasons why the visa will be refused. Not only is a settlement – fiancée more difficult to apply for; they take longer, they are also much more expensive to apply For.

A Visa company has told me not to apply for a Tourist Visa.

There are only one of three reasons why a Visa company will tell you not to apply for Uk Tourist Visa – UK Visitors Visa.

The visa company earns more money applying for different visas such as fiancée of settlement visas

The visa company do not know how to apply for a UK tourist visa

Because you have informed them you wish to marry in the UK

What is the quickest UK visa to get for my Thai girlfriend?

The quickest visa to apply for is a UK tourist visa. It costs less, not as much evidence is needed and you will get the result form the British embassy much quicker.

Our advice to you, if your Thai girlfriend has never visited you in the UK before, gets a UK tourist visa first. Getting a Tourist visa first gives you credibility later on with the embassy. If at a later time you decide that you would like your Thai girlfriend or wife to live with you full time in the UK you can show that the relationship has grown and that a Fiancee visa is the correct visa.

Do I have to be in Thailand to apply for my Thai girlfriends UK Visa?
Many UK boyfriends believe that they have to be in Thailand when they apply for a UK Visitors Visa for their Thai girlfriend.

If you stop to think about this for a moment you would realize that this dosent make any sense.
Yes as the boyfriend you are the sponsor of your Thai girlfriend and without you she would not be able to apply for a UK Visa. But from the visa application you are only about 30% of the application. Your Thai girlfriend’s information adds up to about 70% of the visa application.

It is possible that your girlfriend will receive a telephone call from the embassy, normally when this happens it is to confirm information that you have provided on the application form

Do I have to be in Thailand to apply for my Thai girlfriends UK Visa?

Not only are you not required in Thailand when the Uk visitor visa application is made, your Thai girlfriend will not need to attend the embassy either.

It is possible that your girlfriend will receive a telephone call from the embassy, normally when this happens it is to confirm information that you have provided on the application form. You the sponsor could also receive a telephone call from the Embassy. Infact any person that is named on the application form could be contacted so the embassy can confirm information.

On occasions the applicant will be called into the British embassy for an interview.
The British sponsor will not be asked to attend the embassy at any time in regards to the UK Visitor visa application which means that he does not have to be in Thailand.

You can save money by getting you Thai girlfriend back to the UK. The benefits include

Spending quality time together getting to know each other more

Not having to use holidays from work as you can remain in the UK

Done correctly your Thai girlfriend can visit the UK for 6 months

You will save money, not travelling to Thailand and being out partying every night

After contacting a client in the UK on the telephone and corresponding with emails, the client being the UK sponsor had some reservations about giving a Guarantee for a Thai girlfriend UK visitor’s visa

1. What concerns me is how can anybody “Guarantee” to obtain a UK fiancé/tourist – Visitors visa ? Surely the only people that can guarantee a visa is the British Embassy.

Guarantee Thai girlfriend UK Visitors visa

This is quiet right, nobody can guarantee a UK Visitors visa, My original email explains that we build the correct visa application fully meeting the British embassy’s requirements. We do not guarantee to get you a UK Visitors visa, we guarantee to help you and your Thai girlfriend build the correct UK Visitors visa application to obtain a visa every time.. When you apply for a visa with the correct information, the British embassy will issue the visa

We guarantee to help you build the correct evidence and information, when this is done you will get a visa.

The British embassy cannot guarantee that you will get a visa, getting this visa is just like a test, they mark the test, we get you ready for the test. We also test you first, when you pass our test, you will pass the Embassy’s test.

2. If I ever decided to marry any Thai girl, I need to protect my property in England. Is it better to Marry in England or as I suppose get married in Thailand which would mean that she could never touch my assets in England, should the marriage fail ?

Do not ever get married to obtain a visa for your Thai girlfriend; a visa will be issued without marriage. If you marry your Thai girlfriend, on the breakdown of the marriage she will not be able to claim any assets you had prior to marrying.

i.e you have a house worth 200000 pounds prior to getting married, two years later you separate, the house is still yours and your Thai wife has no claim to the house.

We will help you obtain a UK Visitors visa the correct and quickest way, if you would like to move forward please let me know

Many men who had lived in Thailand with their Thai wife’s had found the strength of the pound against the Thai baht leaving them very short of money. This forced many of the UK men back to the UK

How long it takes to get a UK Visa for Thai Citizen

Many of the men returning to the UK wanted to bring their Thai wife back to the UK to live full time. The number of applications made at the British embassy in Bangkok made a back log. Thai people looking for a UK settlement visa had to wait up 90 days to get a reply on the application while a UK visitor visa was taking 6 weeks.

This situation has changed, with the amount of application made at the British embassy now falling.

It is presently taking 21 days for a reply on a UK settlement visa application and 10 days for a reply on a UK visitor’s visa.

I want your website readers to be aware of my story which started one year ago in Pattaya Thailand when I fell in love with my Thai girlfriend. I had traveled to Thailand many times but never wished to fall in love until I met my Thai girlfriend at a party. She was not working in a Thai bar she worked in a solicitor’s office, receiving a good monthly salary so very respectful you would imagine.

I fell in love with my Thai girlfriend and visited her in Pattaya on 3 separate occasions. Finally I made the decision to sell up in the UK, selling everything that I had ever owned. Then sending the money to my Thai bank account and following shortly after on a one way flight with Thai airways.

Arriving in Thailand with nowhere to live, getting bored of hotel life, My Thai girlfriend as they all do convinced me to buy a small home which was put in her name. I now know this was a mistake, but at the time because of my love for my Thai girlfriend I could not help myself.

We moved into the house together and made it a place to be called home. The first year was fantastic, my new lover took care of me and I loved her more than my own life.

8 months into my life, we went to visit my Thai girlfriends family in the village. This was a real shock to me. I had never seen before people living in such poverty. To be honest I felt ashamed that I had life so good, yet my girlfriends family were living in extreme poverty.

Without encouragement, I single handedly made the decision to tear down the family shack in the village and build a new house with running water and electric. I had committed to paying for all of the building work. The new home was to be built big enough to fit the family including

Mum and Dad

3 Sisters

3 Brothers.

Thai Brother

The house had been completed and we were back in our honeymoon love nest in Pattaya. My girlfriend asked if her Thai brother could move down with us in Pattaya, giving him some where to stay until he found full time work, then he would find a place of his own.

I had previously met her brother while in the village. He was a polite and gentle man, therefore I had no worries or concerns about helping him and his family out. Actually I thought him coming to Pattaya to get work would remove some of the burden from my girlfriend; she was the only person that was able to support the family.

Thai Brother Moved to Pattaya

With my total agreement he moved to Pattaya and into our home. He arrived and we settled him in and my Thai girlfriend took him around Pattaya to find work which for some reason he was finding difficult. I found this strange as it seems there is always a lot of work available in Pattaya.

Thai girlfriend and her Thai brother

The trips out to find work slowed down until I found myself sharing a house with my Thai girlfriend and her Thai brother. On a daily basis he was sat in my home doing nothing but watching Thai TV and drinking my beer. Eventually this got me down, so I mentioned it politely to my Thai girlfriend. I was shocked as she defended him to the hilt saying he was trying his best.

During this time our relationship seemed to start to die. Everywhere we traveled, shops, beach, bars etc the Thai brother had to come with us which I found very strange. I was unhappy with it but tried my best to accepted it.

More and more my Thai girlfriend would sit and drink with her brother until it became every night. There they say on my the balcony of my dream home drinking and speaking Thai while I sat inside isolated, becoming a prisoner in my own home.

Pattaya has some of the best golf courses in the world. In the UK I could not afford to play on such high quality courses. To beat the boredom I played golf about three times every week. Setting off early in the morning to try to beat the midday heat and arriving home early evening.

On one day I realised on the way to the golf course that I had forgot my golf shoes. Unlike the UK some courses you cannot play without the correct clothing, so I changed direction and headed home to collect them.

On arriving home, I was surprised to see my girlfriends car still on the drive. Normally she sets off to work at 9am. I entered the house to hear my girlfriend having what sounded like sex. I couldn’t make sense of the situation, my mind was racing at 100 miles an hour while walking to the bedroom, who could possibly be in there with her ?

I opened the bedroom door, with the sight before me I physically felt sick, and there was the apple of my eye banging away with her brother. Yes she was sleeping with her Thai brother.

“What is going on” I shouted, “ you are sick, you are sleeping with your Brother? Your brother? What type of family are you?”

The look of shock on their face was nothing to the look of disgust on mine. My thai girlfriend jumped off the bed holding the sheet around her leaving her brothers named body exposed.

“You don’t understand” she said, “Its not what you think”

Not to bore you with the complete shouting argument that we had, but the brother finally shouted

“She not my sister, she my wife” followed by “She not love you, she only want your money, now you must leave”

I couldn’t believe it, he was telling me to get out of my own house.

The final outcome of these events.

The Thai Brother was infact the Thai Husband

I had purchased two houses, one for the Thai family and one for us. The mistake I had made was that I had put the house into My thai girlfriends name, so infact it was her house. The same was for the two cars. I went to the police to complain, they asked whos name are the houses and cars in, as I replied I realized that I had really messed up.

I am still in Pattaya, but now renting a cheap room and riding a motor bike, with most of my savings gone. I am now forced to live off my pension, but I will never be able to afford a nice house or car again. I feel real stupid.

My advice to anyone out there, if you are buying a house or car in Pattaya you can buy it in your own name. Well the house I think has to be in a company name..

There are some real relationships here in Thailand between Thai ladies and expats, but not all that glitters is gold, as I found out.

A Thai brother may not be a brother, but a husband, and a Thai girlfriend maybe somebody else’s wife. A houses in somebody elses name is there house.
